Prayer

Father we pray that that will be our prayer, that we might show your compassion. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. And then He said to His disciples, and He’s telling us today, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field, and maybe add to that, ‘Lord, here I am, send me’.

May God bless you, may He bless you with anger at injustice, anger at oppression, and anger at exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, for freedom, and for peace. May God bless us with tears to shed for those who suffer, pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that we may reach out our hands of comfort to them. May God bless us all with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this strange world, so that we can do what others claim cannot be done. Father be with us we pray, Amen.

Song: These are the days
