Life of Paul – Part Roman
This week we are continuing in our series, looking at the life of Paul. We will be looking at Paul being part Roman, and thinking about how God’s timing allowed Paul to travel easily. The reading will from Acts 16:1-15
You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

Reading: Acts 16:1-15
Why not take a few moment to pause and think about what Charles has been talking about. Perhaps write down who you are, what your roles are, where you are in life, where you are at the moment – at home, or at work, or school, or wherever.
Just have a little think about how God is using you in these times. Maybe it’s quiet hard at the moment, and you don’t think you’re doing anything, or you can’t do anything, or you don’t really know what you’re doing or where you’re going. Maybe have a little think about where you are at the moment and how God will be using you and working through you. Perhaps we can’t always see how God is working, but perhaps we’re not looking in the right place. Maybe we need to be turning round and having a look at where God is working. Maybe sometimes we want to be a bit like Paul and want to go off and work in different places, but perhaps God isn’t calling us to go that way.
Make sure we spend time with God and ask Him to lead us and guide us, and show us if where we are is where He wants us to be. Maybe just take a few moments and pray through this, refocus, and ask God to help you wherever you are, that you will be leading the life He wants you to.
Song: Hear the call of the Kingdom
We’ll be looking at Paul being a performer of miracles, and looking at how God sometimes does strange things to further his kingdom. The reading will from Acts 13:4-12
