Friday 19th June – The good Samaritan
Today’s story is taken from Luke chapter 10 verses 25 to 37 (Luke 10:25-37) if you wanted to find and read it for yourself.
Jesus told stories to help people understand the best way to live. The story of the Good Samaritan helps us understand that our neighbour is not just the person next door – but everyone!
So when Jesus said ‘love your neighbour’, it meant everyone.
Here is an idea to remind us to use our hands to be kind to others
You need a piece of paper
Fold the paper in half
Put your left hand on the paper with your thumb and first finger on the fold, then draw round your hand
Now cut the hand out, making sure you don’t cut the thumb and finger on the fold (so you end up with two hands joined together)
Open the hands out, turn the other way up, and decorate any way you want
When done, why not stick them to another piece of paper, and write a verse on it
There’s a downloadable copy here if you wanted to print it out
Take some pictures of your creations and send them in so we can see what you have been doing and we will add them to the bottom of this page. They won’t appear straight away – I’ll add them later in the day).
Here’s some pictures we’ve received so far:
